Happy birthday to my mother

On a personal note, happy birthday to my mother, Mary Louise Robinson Carenen Spaun. She was born in Hannibal on Nov. 3, 1916, to Robert Bowman and Kathryn Pledge Glascock Robinson. She died in 1983, but she remains with me every day. I can still hear her saying, "Honey, you're trying to do too much."

Note regarding the dress. See the smocking around the sleeves? That was probably the handy work her my grandmother, Kathryn. Smocking was her specialty.
