What was the going rate for ironing shirts in the late 1960s?

I had an long visit this week with Bobby Heiser of Crescent Jewelry. He told me he used to iron shirts for his Culver-Stockton College male

classmates back in the 1960s in order to earn spending money.

How much did he charge?

$1 per shirt. And they weren't permanent press!
