Two former South Main Street business families merging into one

The Mississippi River flood of 1947 was expertly recorded on black and white film by C.G. Tarleton Jr., a first cousin of my mother, Mary Louise Robinson Spaun. Some years ago C.G.'s sister-in-law shared a collection of his photos with me. This photo has special meaning to me right now, because the families of two of the pictured businesses will soon merge into one. My son, Brian, great-great grandson of Thomas Robinson, of Robinson Bros. Paint and Wallpaper, will marry Tara Lambert, Heiser Jewelry Store owner Carl Heiser's great-great granddaughter. This photo is dated June 11, 1947.
