Poages purchased Hannibal Masonic Home property in 1974

The old Masonic Home, located on Paris Gravel Road where it intersects with U.S. 61, was sold to Dean Poage and wife of Shelbina, Mo., in 1974. The home was operated from around 1908 until its closing in the early 1970s by The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge, Free and Accepted, Masons of Missouri.

The property now houses Poage Chevrolet Buick in Hannibal.

Trustees for the lodge signing the deed were A. Cleveland Compton, William Reynolds, Preston O. Sanders, Alonzo Redmond, John W. Carter, Donald Sherwood, Junious Bryant, Hollis Scott, Helbert Brown and Ernest Hawkins.
