Standing beneath an American flag unfurled by the breath of an early evening breeze, and in front of Riverboat Capt. Steve Terry, who was decked in full regalia suitable to the occasion, Tara Sue Lambert and Brian Edward Montgomery repeated vows of love and commitment to each other on Saturday, June 20, 2015.

On board the Mark Twain Riverboat, where the bridegroom had worked as a teen, and surrounded by an intimate gathering of family and closest friends, the bride first gave her mother, who escorted her down the short aisle on the riverboat’s bow, a tender hug before turning attention to her intended.

There, as nieces and nephews, parents, aunts and uncles, siblings and friends waited with anticipation, the bride and bridegroom each in turn said “I do” to solidify a union that unites a man and woman, and also two long-time Hannibal families.

Parents of the bridegroom are Edward P. Montgomery, who served his son as best man, and Mary Lou Montgomery of Hannibal. The bride is the daughter of Rita Heiser Lambert of Hannibal and the late Robert (Bobby) Lambert.

Matron of honor was Tricia Anderson Hinton, long-time friend of the bride.

Flower girl and ringbearer were Reagan and Jonah Hough, niece and nephew of the bridegroom. They are the children of Joe and Katy Hough of Tulsa, Okla.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of Hannibal-LaGrange University, where she earned her BSE degree in Elementary Education. She is employed as a Speech Implementer at Veteran’s Elementary School in Hannibal.

The bridegroom is a six-year veteran of the United States Air Force, and has focused his career in the finance industry.

They are both 1991 graduates of Hannibal High School.
