A few moments of reflection

Friday, Sept. 25, God crossed my path with Rev. Faye Vaughn's path, the two of us meeting for a 20-minute Jesus moment.

I've known Faye for at least 30 years; I wrote a food feature story on her when we were both just kids.

When discussing how my own hair has transitioned to white, she told me about her grandmother. As a young girl, Faye used to comb her grandmother's hair; it was so white and soft that Faye called it "angel hair." She wanted her own hair to be like that, so she used her grandmother's comb.

It didn't work, she said. Her two sisters inherited "angel hair," but she didn't.

But doesn't she wear hats well?

Thank you, God, for this special visit.
