1915: Bowersock selected site for Claremore Oklahoma Frisco depot
A shout out today to Claremore, Okla, a community near Tulsa with two main intersecting railroad lines, the Union Pacific and BNSF.
D.A. Bowersock, married to my great-aunt, was building superintendent for the Frisco in 1915, and was in charge of arranging for the site of the town's new depot. The Tulsa World on Dec. 19, 1915, reported that the new structure was to be built of brick and Carthage stone; modern in every respect, at a cost of $24,000. Does anyone have a photo to share? Email me and let's start a conversation. montgomery.editor@yahoo.com
