Plowman banking legacy

Stevens Plowman, right, and his father, Bayard Plowman, as photographed in 1991.

Stevens Plowman, who worked 47 years for the combined F&M banking organization, stepped down as bank president on July 1, 2014.

Following the announcement of his planned retirement, I sat down with Stevens at favorite Hannibal coffee and gathering spot, Java Jive, on North Main Street, and subsequently wrote a story on Stevens' career, published in the Hannibal Courier-Post.

Thanks to the generosity of Courier-Post Publisher Mike Murphy, and his appreciation of the newspaper's rich heritage, I share this photo of Stevens and his father, Bayard Plowman, taken by the newspaper staff in 1991.

And the story can be accessed via the newspaper's web site by clicking here.
