1949, Ed O'Neill: A two-finger typer
Long-time Hannibal Courier-Post sports editor Ed O'Neill is photographed by co-worker Otis Howell in 1949 at the newspaper office, which was located at 300 Broadway.
Betty Farrell, who worked with O'Neill in her capacity as women's editor in the 1940s, said Ed typed with two fingers, his own typing system that allowed him to write stories with speed.
Note the items within the picture; bound copies of the newspaper on a shelf behind Ed; the vintage manual typewriter; and the unique old telephone.
This photo by Otis Howell is from the Steve Chou collection.
